Social Enterprise Means Business Masterclass

The Social Enterprise Means Business Masterclass series is returning to Derry~Londonderry on Wednesday 26th November with an event exploring What’s on The Mind of Social Enterprise Leaders.  This will be a synopsis event covering The Four Challenges for the Decade Ahead, Meeting the Leadership Challenge and The Performance Formula.

Attendees can look forward to hearing from speakers with impressive leadership and social enterprise credentials. Originally from Derry, Harry McDaid is Group Chief Executive of the Ulster Community Investment Trust (UCIT),  a key provider of social finance, business support and mentoring to the social economy sector across Ireland. In his previous career, Harry was a member of Bank of Ireland’s senior executive team in the UK and was responsible for managing its UK Business loan portfolio. He has over 40 years of experience in the field of Business and Corporate lending. He also has a great deal of experience in skills training in business and financial risk, having worked with the Institute of Bankers in Ireland, of which he is a Fellow. Reflecting on his experiences, Harry will share his own insights on how social enterprises can grow and succeed.

 

Euan Isles leads Deloitte’s global research into the ‘Leadership of Change’. In 2014 he led Deloitte’s research into the challenges facing leaders in the Social Enterprise space across the UK, publishing two articles, What’s On The Mind of Social Enterprise Leaders and Meeting the Leadership Challenge. Reflecting on this work, Euan will outline the ‘Four Challenges for the Decade Ahead’ and share ‘The Performance Formula’ required for social enterprises to meet these challenges.

The event will be chaired by Professor Ken O’Neill, Chairman, School for Social Enterprises in Ireland.
